Absa Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Uganda’s economic transformation through stronger collaboration with Government and increased financing for key sectors of the economy.
The commitment was made during a meeting between the bank’s leadership and the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Henry Musasizi, at the Ministry of Finance.
The discussions centred on strengthening public-private partnerships and expanding access to affordable financing for sectors identified as critical to Uganda’s Tenfold Growth Strategy, including agro-industrialisation, tourism, manufacturing and infrastructure.
Absa Bank Uganda Board Chairman Keith Kalyegira said the bank remains focused on providing financing solutions that support the country’s long-term development goals.
“Absa remains committed to Uganda’s long-term development through responsible partnerships and innovative financing solutions, including Sukuk, to help unlock capital for the country’s growth priorities,” he stated.
Managing Director David Wandera said the bank will continue to work with Government and the private sector to unlock investment and support businesses.
“We are committed to delivering practical financial solutions that unlock investment, support enterprise, expand access to capital, and partner with Government to accelerate inclusive economic growth.”
Minister Musasizi commended Absa Bank Uganda for its continued partnership with Government and recognised the bank’s contribution to Uganda’s economic growth and development.
The meeting comes as Government steps up efforts to implement the 2026/27 National Budget, which places emphasis on private sector-led growth, industrialisation and investment in productive sectors.
Absa Bank Uganda says it will continue developing financial products and services that enable individuals, businesses and institutions to invest, grow and contribute to Uganda’s economic transformation.
