Equity Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to community health by participating in the 13th edition of the Kabaka’s Birthday Run 2026.
This year’s run is held under the theme of ending HIV/AIDS by 2030, a goal the bank says aligns closely with its mission. Speaking at the event, Executive Director Claver Serumaga noted that Equity Bank Uganda is proud to stand with the Buganda Kingdom in support of the cause.
“As Equity Bank Uganda, we are honoured to join this year’s Kabaka’s Birthday Run. The theme of ending HIV/AIDS by 2030 resonates with us because we share the same vision,” he said.
The bank also contributed to the event by donating and purchasing running kits to support participation. Serumaga said the bank’s involvement reflects its broader commitment to transforming lives, improving livelihoods, and creating opportunities for prosperity, values it shares with the Buganda Kingdom.
He added that he will personally take part in the run, covering 21 kilometres as a sign of commitment to the cause. He called on the public to support the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in the fight against HIV/AIDS. “Together, let us run for health, for hope, and for a future free of HIV/AIDS,” he said.
