MTN Uganda Appoints Marvin Ncube to Board, Perumal Resigns

MTN Uganda has appointed Marvin Ncube as a non-executive director to its Board of Directors, effective June 10, 2026, following the resignation of Sugentharen Perumal from the Board.

The appointment was announced by the company in line with the Uganda Securities Exchange Listing Rules 2025.

Ncube is a finance executive with more than 20 years of experience in strategic business planning, financial management and operational performance. He joined MTN Group in August 2022 from Telkom, where he served as Group Executive for Financial Controller, overseeing group financial planning and analysis, statutory reporting, revenue assurance and capital management.

Prior to joining Telkom, he held senior finance positions at Eskom, including Divisional Chief Financial Officer. He completed his articles at Deloitte & Touche and currently serves on several boards, providing oversight on financial management, governance, strategic planning and organizational performance.

In announcing the appointment, MTN Uganda said the Board was pleased to welcome Ncube and expressed confidence that his experience and expertise would support the company’s continued growth and strategic ambitions.

“The Board welcomes Ncube and looks forward to his contribution of his oversight role as it continues to steer MTN Uganda forward as a responsible corporate citizen,” the company said in a statement.

The Board also paid tribute to Perumal for his service and contribution during his tenure.

“We also take this opportunity to thank Perumal for his dedicated service to MTN Uganda and his invaluable contribution towards shaping the strategic direction. We wish Perumal the best in all his future endeavors,” the statement added.
