UBA Uganda is on the move to strengthen its Board of Directors with the appointment of Godwin Orumwense Ize-Iyamu and Harriet Nabakooza Musoke Non-Executive Directors.
The appointments bring more than six decades of combined experience in banking, financial services, corporate finance, accounting, corporate governance and strategic leadership to the bank’s board.
Ize-Iyamu joins the UBA Uganda Board with more than 40 years of professional experience spanning banking, corporate finance, accounting, oil and gas, strategic leadership and corporate governance. His career includes extensive leadership experience within UBA Group and other financial institutions, giving him a broad understanding of the African financial services sector.
UBA Uganda said his experience will strengthen the Board’s strategic oversight as the bank focuses on sustainable performance and long-term growth.
Musoke, who joins the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director, brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in banking and financial services. Her areas of expertise include human capital, corporate governance, leadership development, organisational transformation and culture change. She also brings extensive board and executive experience to the role.
Her appointment is expected to further enhance the bank’s governance structures and strategic decision-making as UBA Uganda pursues growth and innovation in the financial services market. The two appointments come at a time when banks are increasingly placing emphasis on strong corporate governance, effective leadership and strategic oversight amid changes in the financial services sector.
UBA Uganda said the addition of Ize-Iyamu and Musoke will contribute to building a stronger, more innovative and sustainable institution. The appointments also reinforce the bank’s efforts to leverage experienced leadership as it expands its operations and strengthens its position in Uganda’s banking industry.
