Uganda Baati CEO George Arodi Exits, Amon Aruho To Oversee Operations

Uganda Baati Limited Chief Executive Officer George Arodi has left the company after concluding his tenure on October 21, 2026, with Head of Human Resources and Administration Amon Aruho set to oversee operations as the company prepares to appoint his successor.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the steel manufacturer said Aruho would oversee the company’s operations in consultation with Safal Group Regional CEO Dipti Mohanty until a substantive CEO is appointed.

However, the company did not provide a timeline for the appointment. Uganda Baati thanked Arodi for his leadership and contribution to the company and the wider Safal Group.

Arodi served as Uganda Baati’s CEO for nine years and spent more than three decades with the Safal Group, holding leadership roles in Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda. The company said it would continue operating as usual during the transition, maintaining its focus on serving customers and meeting its commitments to business partners and other stakeholders.

Uganda Baati said it would communicate further updates on the leadership transition in due course.
