Old Mutual Insurance Uganda Limited has appointed Peter Mukuru as a director on its Board, bringing more than 22 years of experience across corporate governance, strategy, risk management and technology.
Mukuru has held senior leadership positions in government agencies, regulatory bodies, utilities, multilateral development institutions and private-sector organisations in Uganda.
His experience covers enterprise risk management, digital transformation, cybersecurity, innovation and organisational change.
Old Mutual said the appointment strengthens the board’s experience as the insurer focuses on governance, sustainable growth and long-term value for customers and other stakeholders.
Mukuru is also a corporate governance professional with experience in organisational resilience and the use of technology to support business operations.
His appointment comes at a time when insurers are under increasing pressure to strengthen risk management, embrace digital technology and respond to changing customer needs.
Old Mutual Insurance Uganda said Mukuru’s experience will add to the board’s capacity as the company continues to grow its business in Uganda.
The company welcomed Mukuru to its Board of Directors and said his experience would support its commitment to sound governance and sustainable growth.
