Bank of Baroda (Uganda) Limited recently celebrated its Corporate Responsibility (CR) Activity Week with a series of impactful initiatives focused on environmental conservation, healthcare, education, and community welfare across Uganda.
As part of its environmental conservation efforts, the Bank conducted a tree-planting exercise at Merryland School, where staff planted over 300 trees. The initiative sought to promote environmental sustainability while inspiring students and the surrounding community to embrace tree planting and environmental stewardship.
To support Uganda’s healthcare sector, the Bank organised four blood donation drives at its Kampala Road, Industrial Area, Kawempe, and Kabale branches. The campaigns collected an impressive 458 units of blood, making a significant contribution to the national blood bank and helping meet the critical needs of patients across the country.
In support of education and sustainable development, the Bank distributed solar lights to three schools and an orphanage in Mbarara—Mayanja Memorial Training Institute, Ntare School, Mbarara Preparatory School, and Mbarara Orphan Home. The initiative aims to provide students and children with reliable, clean energy for lighting, thereby enhancing learning and study opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
The Bank also extended its community outreach through a community kitchen in Kapeeka, where approximately 400 people were served nutritious meals. This initiative reflected the Bank’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and improving livelihoods.
Through these initiatives, Bank of Baroda (Uganda) Limited continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to creating lasting social and environmental impact. The CR Activity Week underscores the Bank’s dedication to responsible corporate citizenship and its mission to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of the communities it serves across Uganda.
