Opportunity Bank Uganda Appoints Martha Mwesigye to Board

Opportunity Bank Uganda has appointed Martha Alle Mwesigye to its Board of Directors, bringing more than 16 years of experience in leadership, organisational management and corporate governance.

Mwesigye joins the Board as the bank continues to grow its business, strengthen its operations and widen access to financial services.

She has held leadership roles and worked with organisations across Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. Her experience covers organisational transformation, strategy, governance and institutional development.

Over the years, Mwesigye has worked with Boards, senior management teams and partners on strategic planning, risk management, organisational performance and stakeholder engagement. She has also been involved in building leadership teams and improving systems and structures within organisations.

Her experience is expected to add depth to the Opportunity Bank Uganda Board as the bank works to improve its operations, manage emerging risks and take advantage of opportunities in the financial services sector.

Mwesigye has also been involved in strengthening governance structures and promoting accountability within organisations. Her work with Boards and executive teams has given her experience in oversight, strategic decision-making and responsible management of resources.

She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Strategic Leadership at Southeastern University in Florida, where her studies focus on organisational transformation, strategic leadership and institutional performance.

She holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business from Amity University in India and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University.

Her appointment adds to the experience of the Opportunity Bank Uganda Board as the bank pursues growth and seeks to expand its reach and impact in the financial services sector.
