EcoBank has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Mwerinde Kasedde to oversee its commercial banking operations.

Mwerinde announced her new role on LinkedIn, marking another milestone in her extensive career.

Mwerinde, an accomplished banking executive with over 26 years of experience, takes on this role after a distinguished career across several financial institutions.

Her professional journey began in 1998 at Standard Chartered Bank, where she served as Manager of Trade Finance and Credit Analyst.

Mwerinde later held key roles at Barclays Bank (now Absa Bank) and Stanbic Bank, gaining expertise in corporate management and relationship management.

In 2010, she returned to Standard Chartered as Head of Product and Business Development for SME Banking, before transitioning back to Stanbic Bank in 2017 to lead its Public Sector, Corporate, and Investment Banking division.

EcoBank, a pan-African financial institution operating in 33 countries, entered the Ugandan market in 2009. The bank’s appointment of Mwerinde aligns with its strategy to bolster its commercial banking segment with experienced leadership.
